Ramsey Town Commissioners are inviting organisations to take part in the Ramsey Festival of Christmas Trees being staged at Ramsey Town Hall between 27th November 2020 and 8th January 2021. We would particularly welcome entries from schools, charities, community groups, sporting groups and businesses.

Ramsey Town Commissioners are to undertake an Expressions of Interest process for the long term use of Ramsey Courthouse following the decision by The Heart of Ramsey Limited to withdraw from their exclusivity agreement. Ramsey Quayside Proposals

The Department of Infrastructure's proposals for the reconstruction of the highway and footpaths (including flood defences and social areas) on Ramsey quayside are currently on display at Ramsey Town Hall during normal opening hours (daily 8:45am - 4:30pm & Friday 8:45am - 4:00pm).

At their monthly Board meeting this evening (17th June 2020) Ramsey Town Commissioners resolved to discontinue the temporary pedestrianisation of Parliament Street with immediate effect.

Parliament Street Temporary Pedestrianisation

Following the announcement by the Chief Minister on Thursday 14th May 2020 that “non-essential” retail can open from Monday 18th May 2020 Ramsey Town Commissioners have been requested by DfE to implement the temporary pedestrianisation of Parliament Street during core business hours. This has been requested to allow social distancing to be maintained by pedestrians.

Ramsey Rates 2020-21

Ramsey Town Commissioners have set the rate for the 2020-21 financial year at 411p, a 3 per cent rise over the 2019-20 financial year and broadly in line with the Isle of Man rate of inflation. The new rate will represent an increase of approximately 28p per week for a typical three-bedroom property within the town.
