Parliament Street Update

We would like to thank everyone for the co-operation which has been received following the temporary pedestrianisation of Parliament Street which was introduced at the behest of Government on Monday 18th May 2020 to allow the re-opening of non-essential retail. As a result of our analysis of the effectiveness of the operation and the impact on our ratepayers and visitors we are proposing to implement some changes on Monday 25th May 2020 which also take account of some of the feedback...

Parliament Street Temporary Pedestrianisation

Saturday 16 May

Following the announcement by the Chief Minister on Thursday 14th May 2020 that “non-essential” retail can open from Monday 18th May 2020 Ramsey Town Commissioners have been requested by DfE to implement the temporary  pedestrianisation   of Parliament Street during core business hours.  This has been requested to allow social distancing to be maintained by pedestrians.

Ramsey Rates 2020-21

Thursday 30 January

Ramsey Town Commissioners have set the rate for the 2020-21 financial year at 411p, a 3 per cent rise over the 2019-20 financial year and broadly in line with the Isle of Man rate of inflation. The new rate will represent an increase of approximately 28p per week for a typical three-bedroom property within the town.

Ramsey Festival of Christmas Trees 2019

Ramsey Town Commissioners are inviting organisations to take part in the Ramsey Festival of Christmas Trees being staged at Ramsey Town Hall between 30th November 2019 and 3rd January 2020.  We would particularly welcome entries from schools, charities, community groups, sporting groups and businesses.

Ramsey gearing up for SprintFest TT weekend

Ramsey is gearing up for its first SprintFest TT weekend – three evenings of top-class live entertainment in the heart of the town.   The festival come about by a desire to extend the TT festival atmosphere into the evening and attract locals and visitors to stay in Ramsey.

North Shore Road Temporary Closure

Monday 06 May

The Department of Infrastructure has advised that under section 3 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1985, it will prohibit through vehicular traffic from proceeding on that section of North Shore Road, Ramsey, between its junction with Bowring Road and its junction with Hanley Villas.  Parking will also be suspended.

Andy Cowie re-elected as Chairman of Ramsey Town Commissioners

At the Annual General Meeting of Ramsey Town Commissioners held on 1st May 2019 Andy Cowie was re-elected as Chairman for Municipal Year 2019-2020.  Mr Luke Parker was re-elected to serve as Deputy Chairman.

Tenants Newsletter and Questionnaire Published

Ramsey Town Commissioners have issued the 2019 Tenant Questionnaire.  Copies of the questionnaire are being delivered to all tenants along with the latest Tenants Newsletter. The questionnaire allows tenants to give the Commission feedback on the services which it provides.

Bowring Road closure from 29th April 2019

Bowring Road will be closed from its junction with North Shore Road to its junction with Windsort Road from 6am on 29th April 2019 until 6pm on 4th Mary 2019 or until the telephone duct work is completed.
