The announcement this morning that Looneys of Ramsey is to close has come as a shock. This is a well-established, well loved and extremely long lived business in the Town.
The Chairman of Ramsey Town Commissioners Alby Oldham commented:
“Looneys has been operating for the last 85 years and it is an iconic business, I am shocked and disappointed to hear the announcement this morning that they are to close.
I am sure that the decision to close has been a very difficult and heart wrenching one for this family-owned business.
I wish the owners the very best for the future and I will be in contact with the Department for Enterprise to understand what assistance is available to help the staff.”
