In declaring the results Mr Cowie said:
"I am pleased to be able to report the results of the delayed election for the Board of the Ramsey Town Commission. It is disappointing that we have not had more candidates come forward, but I would like to thank those that have stepped up and wish them the very best for the coming term. I am sure they will continue to promote our town and make decisions based on the future prosperity and well-being of all our residents.
On a personal note, it has been an honour to serve the town for the last 5 years and I would like to take this opportunity to thank my fellow members and the team for all their hard work and dedication over the term of this board, which is often not appreciated as much as it should be. Whilst the Board have often disagreed over policy it has always been done in a professional manner and I know that each member has had the best interests of the town at heart, whatever their opinion. It has also been a Board with a variety of different personal viewpoints and I feel this has been important to ensure that we considered the impact on our decisions on the whole town. The Board have supported the vision to make Ramsey a better place to be throughout, and the town could not ask for more. I am confident that Ramsey will continue to prosper, despite the current challenges. Thank you."
