We would like to thank everyone for the co-operation which has been received following the temporary pedestrianisation of Parliament Street which was introduced at the behest of Government on Monday 18th May 2020 to allow the re-opening of non-essential retail and to assist with social distancing.
As a result of our analysis of the effectiveness of the operation and the impact on our ratepayers and visitors changes were put in place on 25th May 2020 which reduced the period of closure to 11am to 3pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The areas closed to vehicular traffic were amended to Parliament Street from the junction with Christian Street, Bourne Place and Market Hill.
Isle of Man Government has indicated that the World Health Organisation’s social distancing – of at least one metre - may be adopted from 15th June 2020.
As we review the impact of the temporary pedestrianisation we would welcome your feedback via the short survey which can be accessed by clicking here.
Thank you
